The laboratories of KMC Hospital have been declared inactive, consequently depriving innumerable patients from free medical tests. The laboratories were shut down due to a lack of funds, and subsequently entrusted to private enterprises.
However, these private organizations are charging patients for the medical tests conducted, instead of offering them for free as they used to be. The authorities concerned have so far turned a blind eye to this issue.
The laboratories of Rafeeqi Shaheed Hospital and The Institute of Heart Disease are also inoperative, while the laboratory at the Sobhraj Maternity Hospital and Home charges relatively high prices for routine medical tests.
