In a recent update, one more child succumbed to starvation in Mithi Civil Hospital Tharparker. The total death toll has now been confirmed at 64. The famine, which hit the region 42 days ago, has also raised the total number of children admitted into hospitals for treatment. There are currently 52 children admitted to Mithi Civil Hospital, while 2 children have been transferred to Hyderabad for treatment.
