In the past 48 days, the death count has risen to a shocking total of 87 individuals. Most of the victims were children. According to recent reports, 3 more children died due to malnutrition and starvation in Mithi Hospital while 5 others died in their villages. There are still dozens of children admitted for treatment at the Mithi Hospital. The locals say that the hospital is ill-equipped to handle the volume of patients and does not have adequate treatment supplies. They have also said that the staff does not have the right attitude towards the urgency of the plight of the admitted children.
