Islamabad: Polio Virus Has Affected 237 Children This Year

85

Islamabad: According to the Ministry of Health, 237 children were diagnosed with polio in this year alone. This figure was shared following a recent update of 23 polio cases in Sindh, 10 in Baluchistan, 3 in Punjab, and 1 in Khyber Agency. Representatives of the ministry shared that the company wide campaign to vaccinate children below the age of 5 years was successfully carried out in 76 areas of Pakistan. However, the campaign could not be carried out in Peshawar leaving the city’s 7.5 children unvaccinated. A sad day in the history of Pakistani health indeed! We hope that the government can  overcome this barrier to provide access to better health solutions.
