An emergency meeting was called by the I.D.O Health, D.C Central to discuss preventative measures to curb the spread of Congo virus in Karachi. They have recommended that all sacrificial animals brought into the city for Eid-Ul-Azha should be checked thoroughly. Moreover, all citizens should perform the sacrifice in their vicinity’s allocated area to maintain hygiene and to minimize chances of the spread of the disease. Butchers should wear light colored clothing and use medicinal lotion to minimize their chances of contracting the virus. Dr Saifur-Rehman informed the participants at the meeting that up til now, one person had dies of this virus in Karachi.
